LAYER 1 – COOKIE CONSENT (POP-UP NOTICE)
Instructions for Configuring the Cookie Pop-up
1. Request for Prior Consent
- Set up the cookie system so that no cookies are stored in the user’s browser until the user gives clear and explicit consent by taking a specific action (for example, clicking «Accept all cookies» or «Accept cookie settings»).
- Navigating or scrolling through the website cannot be construed as consent.
2. Free and Uncoerced Consent
- Please ensure that users can still access the website even if they choose to reject all cookies (except those that are strictly necessary).
- Do not use “cookie walls” that require users to accept cookies as a condition of accessing the website.
3. Detailed and Transparent Information
- Include links or drop-down menus in the pop-up window to access further information.
- Provide users with a clear and specific description of all cookies and tracking technologies in use. For each cookie, include:
- Cookie name
- Purpose (clearly explaining how it will be used)
- Cookiez supplier
- Type of cookie
- Expiry date
(*) This information may be displayed in the consent banner or in the cookie policy, but must always be accessible so that the user can refer to it at any time.
4. Granular Consent Options
- Please ensure that users can choose to accept or reject different types of cookies (e.g. analytics cookies, personalisation cookies, advertising cookies).
- Add a «Cookie Settings» button that allows for granular selection, as well as «Accept all cookies» and «Reject cookies» options.
- Install a specific module for granular configuration, if necessary.
5. Design of the pop-up notification
- The «Accept», «Reject» and «Cookie settings» options must be on the same visual level (same colour, size and visibility), so that it should not be more difficult for the user to refuse cookies than to accept them.
- Do not include pre-ticked boxes for any type of cookies, except those that are strictly necessary, which should be enabled by default.
6. Consent Form
- Keep a record of all consents given for documentation purposes, ensuring that they are stored securely.
- Configure the system to request a renewal of consent every 12 months from the user’s first visit.
7. Exceptions for Technical Cookies
- Essential personalisation cookies (such as language or currency selection) do not require consent when used solely for the specific purposes indicated.
- Please do not use these personalisation cookies for any other purpose, as consent would be required in that case.
Granular Panel
- When using non-exempt cookies for different purposes or from third parties, implement a detailed settings panel.
- Allow the user to select which cookies they wish to allow and to manage your preferences at any time.
